Dear friends,
allow me to tell you something about the history of our company. It has been my intent from the very begining to offer new and used equipment, together with wide array of photographic services and thus create one integrated and professional center. I have considered the idea of connecting sales of new and used equipment even before 1989 and I tried to carry it through with the headquarters of Drobné zboží Praha state enterprise, where I have managed Foto-Kino shop in Jindříšská street.
I have founded FOTO-VIDEO Milan Škoda
company in 1991. I started building the foundations in Lucerna palace with 6 employees. That happened in spring of 1992. In short time the shop, with 40 empleyees on 420m2, in Vodičkova street, in the very heart of Prague became on of europe's best photo-shops. It strated to fulfill my original ideas about complex and professional services "under one roof". While array of goods offered grew, so did the demands of our customers; soon the space proved small and insufficent. So I took use of very interesting offer and in autumn of 2002 moved the whole company across the street into recently reconstructed Langhans palace. Langhans palace, augmented by its history, architecture and position in the center of Prague is a dignified place for everybody interested in photography and film/making. I conjunction with change of the adress of the company there was also a change in the company logo and name. Original name "Fototechnika a video Milan Škoda" was changed to "Centrum FotoŠkoda". Centrum FotoŠkoda is situated on the historical premises of Langhans palace, on 5 floors in total. Sales area has 950 m2, which is almost 2,5 times more than the previous place had. Showroom has 80m2 and offices other 90m2. Total of 1220m2 was achieved when we opened another 100m2 of Profi center, which should satisfy every need of professionals as well as demanding amateurs. Centrum FotoŠkoda is connected with Langhans Gallery, forming probably the nicest and largest photographic center in Europe.
Centrum FotoŠkoda – connection of trade and services, sales culture and culture in its original meaning. We offer full line customer and professional services in pleasing environment not only for professional photographers and movie-makers, but also for amateurs and complete novices. One point of our strategic plan for the upcoming season is to turn the Centrum FotoŠkoda into recognized Prague cultural center.
Centrum FotoŠkoda offers sales and purchasing of used cameras and other photo-related products with the possibility of trade-ins, authorized repair service, new equipment vending including extensive technical support, complete with wide selection of services, lecturing and exhibitions.
